Position: Case Manager (Housing Program)

Reports to: Housing Program Manager

Type: Full-Time

Hours: 40 hours per week

Compensation: $23 to $26 / hr

Job Summary

The Housing Case Manager receives referrals of new program participants from the Coordinated Entry System. Assesses and determines program eligibility for new referrals. Assists program referrals to complete necessary paperwork and move into an apartment. Works with residents to develop appropriate goals and provide on-going assessment and support. Assists the residents to utilize community resources to meet individual needs. Works with the residents to identify their skills and abilities to promote personal growth.

Position: Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Shelter Operations Manager

Type: Part-Time

Hours: 6 hours per week

Compensation: $23 / hr

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Part-Time Maintenance Technician to perform essential maintenance tasks and repairs in our building. The ideal candidate will have experience in plumbing, electrical work, changing light bulbs, and conducting routine building maintenance. You will also be responsible for scheduling and completing regular inspections, responding to maintenance requests, and ensuring the facility is safe and well-maintained.

Position: Development Associate

Reports to: Director of Development & Communications

Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary Range: $45,000 to $55,000

Location: Hybrid, Remote and the Country Club Hills Office

Job Summary

The Development Associate will be responsible for supporting the fundraising and communications efforts of South Suburban PADS, including:

  • Research corporate, foundation, and community-based funding opportunities and requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Write proposals, letters of interest/inquiry, concept papers, and related materials for grant proposal submissions.
  • Support the Director of Development in planning and coordinating fundraising events, 2 yearly direct mail campaigns, and creating marketing materials (such as social media accounts, website, and print materials).
  • Support on necessary follow-ups on proposals including reporting, award documentation, acknowledgments, thank you letters, and other correspondence.
  • Writes, edits, and collaborates on social media posts, letters, client stories, newsletters, website content, and other materials as needed.
  • Keep up to date records of donors, gifts, and contacts in database.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Permanent Supportive Housing Case Manager is responsible for receiving new participant referrals from the Coordinated Entry System, assessing program eligibility, assisting referrals with the necessary documentation, facilitating their transition into housing, and providing ongoing support to residents. The Case Manager also helps residents access community resources, set and achieve personal goals, and promote their overall personal growth and self-sufficiency.

Position: Culinary Instructor (Housing Program)

Reports to: Supportive Housing Program Manager

Type: Part-Time

Hours: 8 hours per week

Compensation: $21 / hr

Job Summary

The Culinary Instructor will lead and manage cooking classes designed to teach essential culinary skills to residents. This position is critical in helping participants gain practical skills that can improve their self-sufficiency and nutrition. The instructor will develop lesson plans, provide hands-on training, and foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Primary responsibilities include daily implementation of the culinary training program, long-term planning for the culinary training plan, ensuring participants’ needs are met through resource referrals and programming, and coordinating the delivery of services with vendors and partners.

Over the past 31 years, the organization has provided shelter and meals to enable over 19,000 people to survive homelessness. In addition, South Suburban PADS provides pathways home and currently helps over 500 people to preserve or access affordable rental homes every year.
