PADS Daytime Programming

PADS Daytime provides ongoing case management services, ombudsmen counseling services, direct referrals for mental health services and substance abuse programs, and many supportive services through Project WIN (Wellness Initiative Network), a collaborative effort comprised of community based medical, mental health, addiction and veteran affairs service providers working with PADS through the coordination of the Cook County Department of Public Health.  Furthermore GED and vocational training classes are provided through Prairie State College.  Through the PADS Daytime supportive service center guests can participate in a variety of self-improvement and enrichment programs including: computer training, job readiness classes, job search techniques, basic adult education classes, "Steps-to-Success" Employment services, after school tutoring, self-expression workshops, and much more.  To learn more about PADS Daytime click here.

PADS Emergency Overnight Shelter

Providing warm, secure overnight lodging, meals and hospitality at 23 local churches and synagogues, on a rotating basis. Shelter is provided between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. from mid October to mid April. 

Homeless Healthcare Network (HNN)

The Homeless Healthcare Network is a unique collaboration between South Suburban PADS, the major south suburban hospitals and medical centers, area colleges and universities and volunteer medical professionals which provides free primary care medical services to people who are homeless.  These services include urgent medical care, emergency dental services, foot care, eye care, over the counter medications, prescription medications and prescription vouchers. 

Families First

A program designed to meet the needs of homeless families with children, combining special on-site programs with interim-housing apartments.

Project WIN and Project WISH

Various partnerships with other agencies that focus on special medical, mental health and housing needs of PADS guests, through on-site services and transitional housing.

Homeless Prevention Program (HPP)

When required, PADS can financially assist a family with rent or mortgage assistance, utility assistance or other short-term creative solutions that can resolve a family’s crisis. Following the resolution of the crisis, Homeless Prevention Program volunteers serve as mentors to the family for up to 12 months.
